DANCE ACCESSIBLE AND RELATABLE TO ALL PEOPLE
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING…
"Fearless and sensitive; she [director Meredith Cabaniss] engages challenge as adventure, humor as precious, and spirit as essential. Her work makes all involved stop, listen, and experience. SELAH has a knack for creating a world that engages dancer, audience, and choreographer challenging all to take an introspective approach to questions about human nature."
JONATHAN EYMANN, FORMER DANCER
"...wildly talented, meticulously thorough, and refreshingly open to new perspectives."
NINETTE PALOMA, SANTA BARBARA INDEPENDENT
"An ambitious collection of work by talented dancers and choreographers... the conversation that SELAH presented through this work is vital."
MAGGIE YATES, SANTA BARBARA INDEPENDENT
WHAT WE DO
SELAH spans multiple cities and many bodies. The members of SELAH are stretched across the country from Santa Barbara, our main hub, to San Francisco, and New York City. Dedicated to the belief that dance, as all art, is a right, not a privilege, we also have an open-door policy. Anyone can join in on a SELAH rehearsal. We value accessibility and relatability: this means that what we do is for everyone.
We are influenced by both the beautiful and the useful in daily life and that is reflected in our work. We believe dance, like life, is raw and messy and beautiful. Our dance photography tells the same story (and we never edit our photos). You can learn more about our repertory and previous work by clicking the link below.
